Ding Gongci in Pingyuan

The Ding Gongci (Ding Baozhen Exhibition Hall) is located in the central part of Pingyuan Ancient Town. It mainly consists of the main hall, side halls, inner courtyard, and a square, featuring blue bricks and black tiles, red lacquered carved railings, and exuding a strong traditional cultural atmosphere. It comprehensively displays the advanced deeds of Ding Baozhen, a model official of his generation, who was loyal and patriotic, diligent in serving the people, upright and incorruptible, steadfast, pragmatic, reformative, just and righteous, eschewing evil and promoting good, self-cultivating, and maintaining excellent family traditions. The main hall exhibits Ding Baozhen's major achievements, the left side hall displays his growth experiences, and the right side hall shows his family letters and family virtues. The square features a statue of Ding Baozhen, as well as the deeds of historical figures such as civil and military Jinshi from the history of Weaving Gold. Ding Baozhen was upright and unyielding as a person, and clean and honest as an official, successively holding positions such as the prefect of Yuezhou (now Yueyang City) in Hunan, the prefect of Changsha, the inspector of Shandong, the governor of Shandong, the governor of Shandong, and the viceroy of Sichuan. During his political career, he served the country and the people with utmost loyalty. After his death, Ding Baozhen was posthumously awarded the title of Taizi Taibao, the posthumous title of Wencheng, enshrined in the Xianliang Temple, and dedicated temples were established in the provincial cities of Shandong, Pingyuanzhou (now Zhijin County) in Guizhou, and Sichuan. The Ding Gongci located in Pingyuan Ancient Town of Zhijin County was recently rebuilt based on the old temple. The origin of Kung Pao Chicken is related to the sauce-blasted chicken in Shandong cuisine and the spicy chicken in Guizhou cuisine, which was later improved and promoted by Ding Baozhen, the governor of Shandong and viceroy of Sichuan during the Qing Dynasty, forming the Kung Pao Chicken that spread widely, and this dish was also included in Beijing imperial cuisine. ⏳Visiting Time: Purchase tickets to visit, with ticket prices for Pingyuan Ancient Town starting from 100 yuan, and the visiting time is 2 to 3 hours.
