Xijin Ferry

Between Jingkou and Guazhou lies a single stretch of water, while Zhongshan is separated by several layers of mountains. Xijin Ferry was the only crossing from Zhenjiang to the north of the river at that time, holding an extremely important strategic position. It has been a place of military contention since the Three Kingdoms period. When Lu You passed by Xijin Ferry, he was amazed at the daily transportation of thousands of troops at the ferry. The poem written by the Qing dynasty poet Yu Shuzi further describes the busy scene of people coming and going at the Xijin Ferry.
