The Yellow River, the Mother River of My Heart

The Yellow River is the second longest river in China. It originates from the Yueguzonglie Basin on the northern slope of the Bayan Har Mountains in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is 5,464 km long and flows through nine provinces and autonomous regions, including Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, and Shandong, before finally emptying into the Bohai Sea. The Yellow River is known as the Mother River of the Chinese nation, mainly because of its brilliant history and culture. Throughout China's 5,000-year history, the capitals and cultural centers of successive dynasties were mainly concentrated in the Yellow River Basin for more than 3,000 years. The Yellow River Basin is the birthplace of ancient Chinese culture, nurturing a diverse and brilliant civilization and shaping the great spirit of the Chinese nation. The natural conditions of the Yellow River Basin also provided a foundation for the development of Chinese civilization. The climate here is mild and humid, with distinct seasons and favorable water and temperature conditions for crop growth, which led the ancestors to settle here. However, the Yellow River also faces some problems, such as soil erosion, water resource supply and demand conflicts, and water pollution.
