The South-to-North Water Diversion Museum, built within the old pavilion

The Zhengzhou Museum (old pavilion) located near the Green City Square has been adjusted to the Henan South-to-North Water Diversion Museum (in preparation), and it is planned to be constructed on the south bank of the project in Xingyang City. On April 30, 2021, the Zhengzhou Museum Wenhan Street Pavilion (new pavilion) was officially opened to the public. The South-to-North Water Diversion Museum is a thematic museum dedicated to displaying the cultural relics excavated and rescued during the project, committed to inheriting and promoting traditional culture and the spirit of the South-to-North Water Diversion. After 10 years of arduous archaeological excavations, Henan has rescued and protected more than 100,000 precious cultural relics, achieving multiple important results. The museum's basic exhibition 'Treasures Along the Grand Canal - Exhibition of Cultural Relics Protection Achievements of the South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project in Henan' gathers more than 3,000 unearthed cultural relics, dating from ancient times to the Ming and Qing dynasties, comprehensively showcasing the long-standing and splendid civilization of the Central Plains. This exhibition will display the unearthed cultural relics from the reservoir area and the main canal along the route, including Nanyang, Pingdingshan, Xuchang, Zhengzhou, Jiaozuo, Xinxiang, Hebi, Anyang, and other 8 cities, following the south-to-north flow direction of the middle route project. Starting from May this year, the museum has completely canceled the reservation for visits and ticket exchange, allowing more people to enter the museum and enjoy a relaxed visit. The museum is located in the bustling city area, adjacent to the Zhengzhou Science and Technology Museum, the Party History Museum, the Municipal Government, Bisha Gang Park, Zhengzhou University, and not far from the Zhengzhou Textile Museum. It is conveniently located 400 meters from the Green City Square subway station on Line 10 and Line 1 Green City Station.
