My first attempt at a customized trip, a group of 9 people connected by a special bond, led me to meet Xiao Du, a custom travel planner from Hudi Travel Agency. They would proactively share stories about Xinjiang’s local customs, adding a warm layer of meaning to the scenery outside the window; at service areas, they thoughtfully reminded everyone to get off and rest; they helped carry luggage and check in at hotels, arriving early and carefully guiding us to the best drone flying spots. What touched us even more was that they specially bought watermelon and yogurt to thank the two drivers and Xiao Du. Although we couldn’t visit Shata due to an unexpected situation, leaving a slight regret, the rest of the trip went exceptionally smoothly. We made a special stop at the Qiaerma Martyrs’ Cemetery, which added a profound significance to the journey. Buying a copy of "Guarding the Tianshan," the stories between the lines brought tears to my eyes; offering a bouquet to the 168 soldiers who rest there made me truly understand: without their sacrifice, there would be no Duku Highway crossing the Tianshan Mountains today. Fortunately, we met a veteran guarding the cemetery, listened to his stories of those turbulent years, and took a photo together—this memory is something to cherish for a lifetime. This Xinjiang trip exceeded all expectations.
