Zhaoqing Ancient City Wall

As a famous county in Lingnan, Qing has a history of more than 2,000 years. In ancient times, it was named Gaoyao, Xin'an, and Duanzhou. The story of Bao Gong governing Duanzhou took place here. When Song Huizong was young, he ruled Duanzhou. After he ascended the throne, he felt that Duanzhou brought him good luck, so he changed Duanzhou to Zhaoqing Prefecture. From the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty to the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Zhaoqing was the seat of the Governor-General's Office of Guangdong and Guangxi, and the administrative and trade center of the Lingnan region. The old district of Zhaoqing (Duanzhou Old Town) is mainly located between the Song Great Wall and the Xijiang River. It was really unfortunate that we came here. The Old Qilou Street was being renovated and a cold front was moving south, so the weather was gloomy. But after two days of sightseeing, I still felt it was pretty good, except that it was difficult to take photos. Take Zhengdong Road, Chengzhong Road and Zhengxi Road as the main lines, and Yuejiang Tower, Confucian Temple, Piyun Tower, Museum and Xilu as nodes. Don't miss Caoxie Street, Qilin Street, Haoju Street and Micang Lane. Standing on the ancient city wall, looking at the uneven new and old buildings inside and outside the wall, I feel quite emotional.
