Huguangyan

Huguangyan Scenic Area is located in Huguang Town, Mazhang District, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, and is the core scenic area of the Leiqiong Global Geopark. It is famous for its rare and typical maar volcanic geological relics formed by the Quaternary volcanic eruption and its excellent natural ecological environment. It was formed between 140,000 to 160,000 years ago, mainly consisting of a double volcanic crater lake and volcanic rock walls. The total area of the scenic spot is 4.7 square kilometers, of which the lake area accounts for 2.3 square kilometers. The scenery is quite nice, suitable for leisurely tours. Walking around takes quite some time, so it is recommended to drive into the park or take the sightseeing train within the park for comfort (driving into the park seems to require an additional entrance fee). You can get off at the attractions to visit and then wait for the car to go to the next spot. The ticket is a through ticket, allowing you to get on and off at will, and there are frequent train services.
