Zhangzhou Ancient City Confucian Temple

The Confucian Temple is located on Xiuwen West Road, Xiangcheng District, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, covering an area of ​​15,000 square meters. The scenic spot is rated national AAA. The Confucian Temple is the largest ancient building complex in Zhangzhou City and a national key cultural relic protection unit. According to the "Zhangzhou Prefecture Records" of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, it was built in the fourth year of the Qingli period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1044), moved to the left of the state in the second year of the Zhenghe period (1112), and restored to its original site in the ninth year of the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1139). Historically, Zhu Xi, Zheng Chenggong and Huang Daozhou all came to this temple to worship Confucius. During the Jianyan period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1130), Confucius' descendants fled to Zhangzhou to avoid the war and lived here. Their descendants lived in the temple from generation to generation until the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty. It was renovated many times during the Ming and Qing dynasties and the Republic of China.
