Tianmenshan 🇨🇳 Zhangjiajie

An early morning start is what we opted for here to avoid the crowds and in hope of some pink sunrise skies. We managed to miss most the crowds for the cableway and walk around the mountain at our own pace, but the cableway starts a little late for those pink skies. The cableway is quite long and you'll head over, the city and then farmland before you head up the mountain side. The weather at the top is temperamental, we had bright skies, down pours and cold hazy spells too. On your way down, you can take the cableway back or take escalators to the famous eye in the mountain. (We couldn't see our hands in the thick fog when we got there, so no pics.) But from all accounts is cool to see and climb the steps through. There are then alternative cableways and escalators to return you to the city. Getting There- The cableway for the mountain starts in the city centre so getting to the top is convenient. Food- I'd recommend taking something with you if you think you'll get peckish after an hour or two of wandering. #mountainview
