Grassland Sky Road

The Gu Yuan section of the Grassland Sky Road starts from Shuangnaobao in Pingdingbao Town in the east and ends at Xiba Village in Lianhuatan Township in the west. The main route is 116 kilometers long, and the small loop is 14.5 kilometers long. The terrain is diverse, and the scenery is unique. It connects a number of scenic spots such as Shandian Lake, Laozhanggou, Bing Shan Qiao, the Ming Great Wall's Dushikou Fortress, and the source of the Bai River. The road winds through grasslands and forests, releasing a sense of vastness; it spirals through high mountains and deep valleys, striking a chord of amazement in travelers. Here, you can admire the grandeur of the mountains; here, you can gaze upon the vast expanse of the grasslands; here, you can also feel the weight of the Ming Great Wall and recall the neighing of warhorses. The illustration shows a horse farm about 12 kilometers from the western end of the Grassland Sky Road. Free to visit, but activities such as horseback riding and archery require a fee. The horseback riding project costs 80 yuan per person. Self-driving is the best way to explore the Grassland Sky Road. There are no gas stations on the Grassland Sky Road, so it is recommended to fill up your tank.
