Yushan 3 Days Itinerary

📍 Itinerary Overview: SHANGHAI - YUSHAN - SANQINGSHAN - Going from Shanghai, you can take a 2h and a half train to Yushan South (Yushannan) which is the closest railway station to Sanqingshan. From there you can get a didi for around 140RMB or go to the coach station first to catch a bus. 🚩 Sightseeing Route: Along the JINSHA cableway DAY 1: If you check into Xipan shanyuan hotel, which I recommend due to close vicinity to the cablecar, take a few hours to visit the YULIAN WATERFALLS. The entrance is just a few steps away from the hotel. There is 30RMB bus fee that takes you right to entrance to the scenic area. The route to the waterfall is easy and takes maybe 45 minutes if you take it slow. It is a more peaceful area, especially conpared to the mountain, so if you need some time to relax in the nature before or after the hike, this is a good choice. You'll need 2 to max 3 hours for this and views are beautiful. DAY 2: Wake up early to climb the SANQINGSHAN. This gorgeous place is enlisted on UNESCO list of world heritage sites and offers numerous sites to be inspired by. The ticket office opens just after 7 AM and the JINSHA cableway starts running at 7.30 AM. Take this way for the easier hike - it take you further than the rest. Weekdays are often less busy if you're trying to avoid crowds. Also, if you prefer to have some peace, as the area gets really loud and busy with the number of tourists, I suggest you actually take the cableway in the afternoon and stay over night. It is the most calm after 5 PM when the majority of tourist try to catch the last cablecars and in the morning before the first one climb up. So if you wake up before 5 AM for the sunrise, you've got plenty of time to enjoy the mountain in quiet. There's only one actual hotel tho and while it is warm and offers all you need, costs at least 100 € and should be booked in advance, so think this through. You can also get a tent at a much cheaper price. DAY 3: Catch the sunrise and make your way down. There are shuttle buses to Shangrao, from where you can catch your next train, just next to the KFC infront of the cableway entrance. It costs around 47 RMB and takes about 1h and 30min.
