A hearty dose of culture in the moutains.

#chinatrip China is a massive country. There are so many lesser known and lesser explored provinces. This time I wish to share my thoughts on Yunnan. We visited it during the last spring and it continues to be in my itinerary for the next one. The best part is that you could even combine it with a visit to northern Vietnam and cross over the land border. It is what we did and started with Kunming, then dali, then Lijiang and finally Shangri-la. The Xinjiang province next door is a hidden treasure and limited to few. Because it has governmental restrictions and requirements for tourists. Which makes it somewhat expensive and exclusive. But the next best place to get a glimpse of a unique culture and breath taking sights is the province of Yunnan. For those who haven't yet, it is strongly recommended. Look it up, you won't be disappointed.
