The off-season in Yunnan is truly beautiful!!

Before going to Yunnan, I checked travel guides and found most were full of ads, so I decided to write a completely ad-free self-guided trip. Our first stop was Lijiang. Since we couldn't get up early, we chose a hotel where we could see the sunrise on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right from the room. Luckily, on both mornings in Lijiang, we saw the golden sunlight on the mountain. We didn’t manage to get morning tickets for the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain cable car because we booked last minute, but visiting Blue Moon Valley at noon and climbing the snow mountain in the afternoon didn’t affect our mood. In the off-season, afternoon cable car tickets are still quite easy to get. We bought four oxygen bottles for the two of us, but in the end, neither of us used even one bottle completely. The place where altitude sickness is most likely to occur is on the cable car, because it takes you from over 3,000 meters to 4,506 meters in just eight minutes, which is hard to adjust to suddenly. So we started using oxygen on the cable car and then walked and climbed slowly after getting off. Nature really heals people, and this time it was the snow mountain. Wearing bright clothes with the snow mountain as the background makes every photo look amazing. The second stop was Dali. We didn’t choose to stay in the ancient town but picked a sea view hotel just a three to five-minute walk from Erhai Lake. After breakfast, we strolled from the hotel to the lake, watched the seagulls, and listened to the waves hitting the rocks. Days in Dali should be spent watching seagulls, basking in the sun, and drinking coffee.
