Lijiang + Shangri-La + Meili Snow Mountain 8-Day Tour

Yunnan is truly a treasure province worth visiting multiple times, with different scenery in every season. This time, I spent a total of 12 days in Yunnan, mainly to see the sunrise on the Golden Summit. My family member caught a cold, so the itinerary was very relaxed. Considering that not everyone may have such a long vacation or might want to add Dali (which I have visited 3 times), Here is an 8-day itinerary for your reference~ (The detailed travel guides have been updated with 16 notes, feel free to check them out if interested) 📝8-Day Self-Driving Tour Itinerary: D1: Arrive in Lijiang Lijiang Old Town → Shuhe Ancient Town → Baisha Ancient Town D2: Yuhu Village → Wenhai Village D3: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain + Blue Moon Valley D4: Depart for Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge → Baishuitai → Stay in Dukezong Ancient Town D5: Songzanlin Monastery → Dukezong Ancient Town → Guishan Park D6: Bottomless Lake (or Pudacuo National Park) D7: Depart for Meili Snow Mountain Jinsha River Great Bend → Baima Snow Mountain → Meili Snow Mountain Wunongding Peak D8: Watch the sunrise on the Golden Summit in the morning → Feilai Temple → Return to Lijiang from Shangri-La ⚠️ Please adjust the attractions according to the season, weather, and your preferences. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions~ ⚠️ Notes: 1. Don’t worry too much about altitude sickness. Everyone flies in from Kunming, Dali, or Lijiang, and after a few days of acclimatization, they go to Shangri-La. Lijiang’s altitude is about 2400m, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain about 4500m, and Shangri-La ranges from 3300m to 4200m. 2. The best rooms in Shangri-La are those with oxygen concentrators. Don’t rush when doing anything; going upstairs, downstairs, or climbing slopes may cause shortness of breath. Just rest, and your heart rate will slow down—this is normal. 3. Avoid washing your hair or bathing in the first two days to prevent catching a cold. 4. Don’t set the floor heating or air conditioning too high when sleeping, or leave a window slightly open. Stuffy, overheated rooms make altitude sickness worse. 5. You can prepare a pulse oximeter, glucose, altitude sickness medicine, cold medicine, and stomach medicine. Buy an oxygen bottle at the local pharmacy. Cola and chocolate can also help prevent altitude sickness. 💕 Finally, I wish everyone a happy trip~
