Yufuin Ryokan Travel Recommendations + Places to Visit

We rented a car from Fukuoka Airport and traveled to Yufuin and Beppu hot springs. Beppu has a unique hot spring tour course called the Hell Tour, but I wouldn't highly recommend it. On the way from Fukuoka to Yufuin, there's a viewpoint at Aso Kuju National Park, which is absolutely beautiful. If you're renting a car, I highly recommend stopping by and taking a look around. We stayed at Mebaeso, one of the top two ryokans in Yufuin. The hot springs themselves were great, and the private family bath was particularly satisfying. The dinner kaiseki felt a bit lacking, so I recommend buying some food in advance. However, the breakfast set was an excellent meal.
