Tokyo Family Trip - Yokohama Anpanman Museum

Travel date: November 2019 | Recommendation: 3/5 The first stop of this Tokyo trip was Hakkeijima. Since we arrived in Tokyo by late flight, we drove directly to Yokohama after arriving. It was more convenient than staying in Tokyo city. Yokohama also has many good places for children, and the most famous one is probably the Anpanman Museum! Although I have been to Japan many times, this is my first time to visit Anpanman. After all, the minds of little girls nowadays are full of Disney princesses and My Little Pony. The love for Anpanman probably belongs to our generation. And the fees for the Anpanman Museum are not cheap... If the children are too young, it would be more fun to go to the pop pool~ But it just so happens that the Anpanman Museum in Yokohama moved to a new location in July 2019, which is bigger than before, so let's come and take a look. Because it was Saturday, there were quite a lot of tourists! Seeing that 90% of the children were Japanese, it was worth praising that although there were so many people, there was not much chaos. It seemed that Japanese children's "playing manner" was also good. The Anpanman Museum is divided into four floors. The 2nd floor is the ticket office, entrance and shop. The main entertainment area is on the 3rd floor, and the underground 1st floor has restaurants, bakeries, and different types of shops. B/F: Parking lot 1/F: Dining, shopping, performance plaza (free area) 2/F: Ticket office, entrance, luggage storage, stroller storage (free area) 3/F: Museum, open space, artificial turf, play space, check-in area, mini stage (paid area) After buying your ticket and entering the 2/F, you will find a locker and a space for baby cars, and then you can follow the colorful stairs to enter the world of Anpanman! When we arrived, the show was about to begin and everyone sat on the floor waiting for the show to start. Because it was close to Christmas, the theme was Anpanman and Christmas. It was fun to watch the mascots singing and dancing. However, since we don’t understand Japanese, we chose to leave in the middle and late stages and go play quickly in other less-populated facilities. At the back of the theater, there is a small game area that simulates the scene of the Anpanman cartoon, which can also be regarded as a designated "check-in spot". What the two sisters are most crazy about is the semi-open-air Ball Park. We also considered buying one to take home, but gave up because we were afraid that it would damage the furnishings in our home. The facilities in the museum are very baby-friendly, with plenty of space for breastfeeding and changing baby diapers, and they are very clean. We stayed in the paid area for about two hours. In fact, there were also children's workshops and storytelling activities in the museum. However, we did not participate as we did not understand Japanese. Overall it's not bad, but the entrance fee is a bit expensive, and there are really a lot of people on Saturday. It is recommended to come on weekdays, it should be more fun! Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum Address: 6-2 Minato Mirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Opening hours: Museums from 10am to 5pm, shops and food courts from 10am to 6pm Admission: 2,200 yen (approximately HK$157) Transportation: JR Yokohama Station East Exit, walk about 10 minutes; or take the Minato Mirai Line Shin-Takashima Station Exit 4, walk about 3 minutes #Overseas Travel#Good Places for Families#Theme Park Guide#Good Places for Families
