Chengdu Longcanggou Travel Guide 1. A great place to escape the city After two weeks of work, I'm exhausted. It's time to immerse myself in nature. I heard that the colorful forests in the mountains around Chengdu are starting to show. I've been to Mount Qingcheng and Longquan Mountain many times, so I suddenly remembered Longcanggou, which I visited a few years ago. The tickets are cheap, and it's not far from Chengdu. It takes just over two hours to get there from Chengdu. I arrived early, and maybe it hasn't become popular yet, so there weren't many tourists. (I edited the photos! It's not that yellow in reality.) The red leaves in Longcanggou are only 20% red. Occasionally, a few red leaves appear in the dark green forest, which is a unique beauty. I guess when the temperature drops and it rains a few times, the red leaves will turn red in large patches. 2. Travel route and precautions The mountain path is not difficult to walk. Follow the steps, and you can hear the sound of waterfalls and mountain springs along the way. Walking for a few hours is not too tiring, and it calms the mind, which is very healing. It's more primitive than Mount Qingcheng. It's strange why it hasn't become popular. The elderly and children with nimble legs can walk, but there is a lot of moss on the road, so be careful not to slip! Wear non-slip shoes suitable for hiking. The temperature on the mountain is low, so wear warm clothes. There are sightseeing buses in the scenic area, and you can take one for CNY 20 if you can't walk. Allow 4–5 hours for the round trip. Don't go up the mountain too late. There is little food on the mountain, so bring your own water and snacks. 3. Local food and attractions There is a Kuanshan Yinlu Hot Spring Hotel at the foot of the mountain. I stayed here the first time I came to Longcanggou. After climbing the mountain and soaking in the hot spring, I felt so comfortable that I fell asleep as soon as I returned to my room. There are many beautiful sights here. In addition to the red leaves and colorful forests, the waterfalls and mountain springs are also spectacular, making it a great place for sightseeing and photography. As for food, there are some small restaurants around the foot of the mountain, offering local specialties such as bacon and sausages, which are very fragrant, as well as various spicy snacks, such as spicy rabbit heads, which are very tasty.
