Visit the new Yichang Museum

The new Yichang Museum is located on the banks of the Bailin River in the Yichang East Station area, adjacent to the Qiyu Platform Park. After its completion, the new museum has become a cultural landmark of Yichang. In addition to its majestic appearance, the new museum also reflects fashionable elements and the cultural characteristics of Yichang, with internal facilities that keep pace with the most advanced museums in China. The main building of the Yichang Museum is designed with the concept of 'Window of History', integrating elements of Ba and Chu historical culture, forming a landmark building rich in content and cultural characteristics. The design of the main building is based on the cultural connotations of the Ba and Chu cultures, displaying the crystallization of Yichang's historical culture. The exterior walls use striped stones with varying shades to present the patterns of 'Ba Tiger and Chu Phoenix', showing the design effect of 'the Ba people venerating the tiger, the Chu people esteeming the phoenix, and the harmonious echo of the tiger and phoenix'. The dome of the hall borrows the 'sun' from the 'Sun Man' petroglyph as a design element, and the periphery of the dome ingeniously uses a hollowed-out seal carving design, reflecting the ancestors' worship of the sun in the Yichang area and the reverence for Qu Yuan's philosophy in Yichang as the ancient land of the Chu state.
