Fengguo Poem

Fengguo Temple is one of the three existing Liao Dynasty structures and the only one with a Seven Buddha Hall. Each Buddha is accompanied by two gracefully postured attendant Bodhisattvas, and there are also Vajra warriors standing on both sides of the hall to maintain order. Twenty-three statues, each several meters high (2.5-8.6 meters), are lined up in a grand and magnificent composition, creating an intense visual impact with their expressions of compassion, tranquility, majesty, and grace. On both sides of the hall are murals of ten Buddhas from the Yuan and Ming dynasties, which are ancient and weathered. Additionally, there are exquisite colored sculptures around the Buddha platform, and on the beams of the hall, there are Liao Dynasty flying deities heading south, who are also depicted as males with tadpole-like beards.
