Weekend Two-Day Tour from Guangzhou to Yangshuo (Compact Version)

🚄 Departure: 06:36-08:35 🚄 Return: 20:03-22:04 Day 1: Xingping Ancient Town Take a taxi from the high-speed rail station to Xingping Ancient Town Rent a small electric scooter for 15 yuan/day (luggage storage available for free) Tour plan: far first, near later 1️⃣ Xianggong Mountain (p8-9) Ride to Mashan Pier and take a 5 yuan ferry to the opposite bank. There are many sightseeing buses picking up passengers, round trip 40 yuan! On the way, you will pass a viewpoint for Nine Horses Fresco Hill and Jia Tianxia (the best under heaven). Xianggong Mountain ticket is 60 yuan. The mountain is not high but quite steep, with narrow stairs that can get crowded when busy. The main attraction is the mountain and water scenery on the opposite bank. After descending, go to the parking area. If there is a bus, get on. The sightseeing bus will take you to Jia Tianxia, where you can get off and have a look. If you don’t want to explore, find the lady selling osmanthus jelly nearby and call a car to pick you up. She will take you back to the boarding point, then take the 5 yuan ferry back to the original side. Next, ride the electric scooter back, passing by: 2️⃣ Huangbu Reflection (p16-17) 3️⃣ Egendi Pier (p14-15) 4️⃣ 20 Yuan RMB Background (navigate to Wangwang Delicious Fish) (p7, 12, 13) 5️⃣ Return to the old street of the ancient town for a meal After returning the scooter, take a ride-share to Yulong Bridge to watch the Golden Dragon Parade (p18) The scooter rental owner strongly recommends using Hello Ride-share, which accepts orders instantly. Tips: There is a separate guide for the Golden Dragon Parade, available on the homepage. After watching the parade, return to the hotel to drop off luggage. Then rent another scooter for 20 yuan/day to have dinner & late-night snacks and check out what the so-called West Street is like. This ends the day’s itinerary. Day 2 1️⃣ Watch the sunrise It is said that Gongnong Bridge and Lansheng Bridge piers on Yulong River both offer sunrise views 🌅. On the day, I randomly chose Lansheng Bridge, which indeed has a great unobstructed view (p10). But an annoying cloud blocked the sun that day. After watching the sunrise, return to the guesthouse for more sleep. 2️⃣ Yulong River Bamboo Rafting (p6) The section from Shui Egendi Pier to the Comprehensive Pier is the most popular. It’s best to buy tickets on Yulong River one day in advance, 200 yuan per bamboo raft. Choose your time slot, arrive, get a number, and wait to be called. The whole trip is about 3 kilometers. You can park the electric scooter at the pier. After rafting, take the scenic area sightseeing bus back to the starting point to pick up your scooter (10 yuan/person), or ask the lady by the roadside to drive your scooter to the disembarkation point for 15 yuan/scooter. We chose the latter. 3️⃣ Yulong River Cycling Go to the farthest point first, then explore back along the way. ① Fuli Bridge (p1-3) An ancient bridge over 400 years old, with old trees and flowing water, looks like an oil painting in photos. Although it’s more than ten kilometers from the city, it’s highly recommended and is a check-in spot from the new Journey to the West. ② Yulong Bridge (p11) Another historic ancient bridge. ③ Jiuxian, an ancient residence by Yulong River, where you can see old houses. ④ Then head towards Gongnong Bridge, passing many popular coffee shops and rice field coffee check-in spots. Feel free to stop and take photos or explore if interested. ⑤ Gongnong Bridge, a good place to stop and enjoy the mountain and water scenery. If time allows, you can watch the sunset here, which is also a famous sunset viewing spot. Return to the city around 6 PM and head to Yangshuo Station. Without traffic, it takes about an hour.
