Great Wall Tourism Road - Zhenbianbao Village

A small village in Changcheng Township, Yanggao County, within Datong's jurisdiction, began to rise, and this village later became known as 'Zhenbianbao Village.' From the village's name, one can imagine its wartime significance back then. Historical records indicate that during the Ming Dynasty, Zhenbianbao guarded 21 li of the Great Wall, 30 border forts, and 6 beacon towers. It was an important pass among the five forts of Datong's border wall during the Ming Dynasty, with the saying 'Among the five hundred and eight border forts of Datong, Zhenbianbao is the best' being well-known. In addition to the Great Wall ruins, the area also boasts many thousand-year-old trees, stone cannons, stone carvings, and steles as tourist resources. Coupled with convenient transportation, Zhenbianbao Village has been named a 'Tourist Village' by the Shanxi Provincial Tourism Bureau.
