Hokkaido maple viewing - the enchanting Japanese garden in Yakumo-cho: Umemura Garden

#ViewingMaple #100TravelWays On the way from Hakodate to Niseko, we unexpectedly stopped at the coastal town of #Yakumo-cho. The seemingly ordinary countryside hides a charming Japanese pavilion garden, Umemura Garden. It was originally the residence of a local gentry, and an artist was hired to design the garden. It is now taken over by the Yakumo Town Office and is open to the public for free. #umemuragarden is a strolling garden with maple trees planted along the lakeside. In mid-to-late October, the maple leaves turn red like fire, which is extremely beautiful. The main building of the garden is #梅云亭. Through the reflection of Japanese window paper and paint, the red leaves outside are cleverly extended inside. When taking photos, it feels like the beautiful atmosphere of Rurikoin, which is intoxicatingly beautiful. It was really a treasure. We actually found the treasure in the countryside, and it was preserved and maintained very carefully. Each season has different beautiful scenery, with cherry blossoms in spring, green in summer, maples in autumn and snow in winter. It is a great enjoyment to sit or lie on the Japanese tatami and appreciate the flowing water under the small bridge and the poetic red leaves.
