Ya'an Two-Day Tour: The Ultimate Guide for Solo Travelers!

If you're starting from Chengdu, it's super convenient! Just head to Chengdu South/East/West Railway Station and grab a ticket to Ya'an Station. Tickets cost between CNY 54 and CNY 62, and the journey is only 1.5 hours. Easy peasy! Once you get off the train, don't rush off. Go down the stairs on the right-hand side of the exit, and you'll find shared bikes waiting for you. Ride one to Mengding Mountain, Shangli Ancient Town, or Bifeng Gorge for just CNY 8 on average. Super affordable! If you don't see any shared bikes, don't worry. Take a taxi or bus to Ya'an Hengbo Hospital, and you'll find more bikes there! 👍️Must-See Attractions: 1️⃣ Mengding Mountain: You can't miss Mengding Mountain when you're in Ya'an! The entrance fee is CNY 45, and a one-way cable car ride is CNY 20. If you're up for a challenge, choose the "Strong Person Route" and hike for 4 hours. You'll even get a medal – how cool is that? If you prefer a more relaxed experience, choose the "Chill Person Route" and take the cable car. You'll reach the top in 2 hours and can enjoy the thousand-year-old ginkgo trees at Tiangai Temple, sip on a bowl of tea, and soak in the ancient atmosphere. There are also weekend events, and the ginkgo trees make for stunning photos, so don't forget to snap a few! You might even encounter "wild people" NPCs along the way. Exciting, right? 2️⃣ Shangli Ancient Town: From Mengding Mountain, take a shared bike to Hengbo Hospital and transfer to another bike to Shangli Ancient Town. It's just CNY 8 and a 40-minute ride! This ancient town is a bit off the beaten path, but it's super lively at night, with fireworks on weekends. How romantic! The town is basically one long street with beautiful natural scenery. It's not too commercialized and features streams, stone bridges, and ginkgo trees lining the streets, perfectly complementing the ancient town's charm. If you love barbecue, you can't miss this! 2️⃣ Qidou Snacks: Hidden at the very end of the ancient town, past Erxian Bridge. Their spicy hot pot is amazing, with super fragrant chili powder. You won't be able to stop at just one bite! 3️⃣ Handmade Ice Cream: Across from Qidou Snacks. Surprisingly, they still sell ice cream even when it's cold. The fruit flavors are super rich, and one bite will fill you with happiness! 4️⃣ Potato Pancakes: I bought one from a random stall near Erxian Bridge, sprinkled with chili powder, and it was so good! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, one bite at a time, I couldn't stop! 5️⃣ Sister Liu's Spicy Hot Pot: Next to the handmade tea shop. Their spicy hot pot is also fantastic!
