Scenic Area Introduction Wanfenglin is a 5A-level scenic area located in Xiawutun, Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou. It features a typical cone-shaped karst landscape composed of nearly 20,000 verdant peaks, covering a total area of 2,000 square kilometers. It is one of the three major karst landforms in Southwest China and is acclaimed as the most beautiful cone-shaped karst peak forest in the world. Transportation Guide - Airplane: Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport, about a 30-minute taxi ride to the scenic area, costing 50-60 RMB; there is also a shuttle bus with a ticket price of 10 RMB and a travel time of 40 minutes. - High-speed Rail: Take the train to Panzhou Station, then transfer to a bus to Xingyi East Bus Station, and finally take a bus to Wanfenglin. The whole journey takes about 3 hours; alternatively, carpool from Panzhou Station costs 100-150 RMB per person and takes about 2 hours. - Self-driving: Navigate directly to Wanfenglin Scenic Area. The parking lot is large, with a parking fee of 10-20 RMB. Ticket Information Ticket prices are 70 RMB per visit in peak season and 60 RMB per visit in off-season. Sightseeing bus costs 50 RMB per person. Children over 1.2 meters tall are free of charge; those under 1.2 meters are free of both tickets and bus fares. Students nationwide and seniors aged 65 and above are exempt from tickets (excluding special concession projects in the scenic area). Tour Routes - Regular Route (by sightseeing bus): Take the sightseeing bus from the visitor center along the mid-mountain sightseeing road, go to the end, then return downhill, passing through rural villages back to the visitor center. You can get off at scenic spots along the way. The whole trip takes about 2 hours. - Hiking Trail (on foot): After purchasing tickets, enter from the hiking trail entrance next to the scenic area’s bus queue corridor. The trail is 3.6 kilometers one way and takes about 2-3 hours. Upon reaching Bagua Field, descend to the sightseeing bus road and continue by bus or hike back to the visitor center. - Countryside Stroll (self-driving, cycling, or walking): Rent an electric bike to roam through the fields, enjoy the pastoral scenery, and experience the Buyi ethnic culture. Must-Visit Attractions - General Peak: The iconic peak of Wanfenglin, shaped like an ancient general’s helmet. When shrouded in morning mist, it looks like a general wearing armor. You can capture stunning photos at the Peak Forest Square. - Bagua Field: Naturally formed farmland in the shape of the Bagua (Eight Trigrams), with a central sinkhole. It is magical and spectacular, best viewed from the mountain observation deck. - Nahui River: Clear water winding through the peak forest and villages. Rent an electric bike to ride along the river for a very pleasant experience. - Wanfo Temple: A temple hidden inside a karst cave, housing over ten thousand Buddha statues. The platform in front of the temple offers a breathtaking view of the peak forest. Food Recommendations - Xingyi Mutton Rice Noodles: Rich broth made from mutton bones, served with tender mutton slices and special chili oil. Recommended place: “Liu Ji Mutton Rice Noodles.” - Buyi Sour Bamboo Shoot Beef: Tender beef with crunchy sour bamboo shoots, spicy and appetizing, cooked over charcoal in a clay pot. Perfect for warming up on cold days. Accommodation Recommendations - Fengxi Cave Homestay: A homestay inside a cave with a distinctive lobby and restaurant. There is a swimming pool on the cliff, and rooms are forest standalone cottages facing Wanfeng Lake. Prices range from 800 to 1500 RMB per night. - Yueqili Inn: Located in Shangnahui Village, rooms have large floor-to-ceiling windows with views of continuous mountain peaks and sunny wheat fields.
