Mao Zedong's Former Residence in Xinwuli, Xinfeng, Jiangxi Province.

Mao Zedong's Former Residence in Xinwuli covers an area of 700 square meters. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and was originally a private residence of the Ye family. It is a Hakka walled house with two halls and two horizontal houses. The horizontal house is extended and connected to the front courtyard wall. The courtyard gate is a concave archway with red sandstone door frames and stone pillows. The archway is made of brick carvings with exquisite carvings of patterns such as vases and Tai Chi. After the Shuikou Battle in Nanxiong, Mao Zedong led the army back to the Central Soviet Area and came to Xinfeng in mid-July 1932. He lived and rested here for half a month. Three air-raid shelters were dug at the foot of the hillside in the backyard. It was later listed as a revolutionary site in the former Central Soviet Area such as southern Jiangxi. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Jiangxi Province.
