Sichuan Tourism｜Lesser-known ancient books in Northern Sichuan - Xichong Confucius Temple

Xichong is the hometown of the famous patriot and educator Zhang Lan (1872—1955), and the hometown of the Han Dynasty general Ji Xin. The Xichong Confucius Temple faces north and south, and on the central axis, there are Lingxing Gate, Pan Pool, Dacheng Gate, and Dacheng Hall in order. On both sides of the central axis are the east and west ceremonial gates, the east and west corridors, and the east and west side halls. The Xichong Confucius Temple is a relatively intact and large-scale ancient architectural complex of the Ming Dynasty in northern Sichuan, which has a certain value for studying the development and evolution of Confucius Temple architecture in Sichuan. The Dacheng Hall of Xichong Confucius Temple was rebuilt in the 15th year of Ming Hongzhi in 1502, built on a 1.8-meter-high platform, with a total height of 11.4 meters. The roof is a double-eave Xieshan style, with 17 dougong under the front eave, and the interior is a platform beam style.
