Departs 7am, arrives at scenic area around noon. 2️⃣🎫 Must buy combo ticket with shuttle (150 RMB/person). Enter with ID card. Luggage storage available at visitor center. Board shuttles immediately upon entry – frequent departures with minimal queues. Full buses depart for 40-minute ride to final stop [Redwood Forest]. 3️⃣ [Redwood Forest] at 3,840m: Start exploring here or take shuttles downhill. Downhill buses stop at every station and can be hailed roadside. 4️⃣ My favorite stop: [Budala Peak] with white stupa, wooden fences, swing, and curved road perfect for photos (my pics 7-10 were taken here). 👗 Outfit tips: Summer allows short sleeves, dresses, denim or post-apocalyptic styles in sunny weather. Bring windproof jackets for afternoon winds (starting 3-4pm when sun sets). I wore fleece hoodies at night (perfect) but left them stored during daytime, leading to afternoon headaches. 💊 Altitude sickness report: Previously lived near 3,200m Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with zero symptoms. Post-COVID weakness hit me at Redwood Forest – hypoglycemic dizziness during hiking, needing frequent rests. Oxygen + glucose helped before descending by shuttle. Managed photography despite rapid heartbeat. Back at 3,100m hotel: Intense occipital pain and palpitations from 8pm-1am with interrupted sleep. Took [acetazolamide] (half tablet each with potassium-rich coconut water to prevent numbness side effects) and opened windows – finally slept soundly till morning.
