Shengquan Temple

Shengquan Temple was first built in the Northern Song Dynasty. At first, Dou Shidao, a local sage, lived in seclusion here. After his death, his nephew Dou Mingyuan built the "Gongcui Hall" beside the spring, which was the earliest building here. In 1192, it was changed to "Longquan Zen Temple" and became a Buddhist temple. In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed Shengquan Temple, a thousand-year-old temple with a unique architectural style and a north-facing mountain gate. There are more than 30 halls, divided into east and west courtyards. The south hall of the main courtyard is dedicated to the Buddha, with 18 Arhats on both sides. The temple is surrounded by many scenic spots. To the east of the temple is Shengquan, a spring with sweet water that never dries up all year round. To the north of the temple is the "Xian Cave Book Sound" cave, which is more than ten feet deep. To the southwest of the temple is the Peach Blossom Cave. There are also many historical legends here, such as the origin of Bodhisattva Spring, the legend of the "Eight Immortals," and the story of Peach Blossom Lady.
