Taizhou's fifth stop - Paotan Ancient Town, recalling childhood.

After finishing the morning reading at Tongjiang Academy, I came to the nearby Paotan Ancient Town. Paotan Ancient Town was built in the Tang Dynasty and reached its peak in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a water-land junction connecting the southeast coast and the inland of Zhejiang. Once upon a time, it was a scenic port along the Yong'an River. Every three, six, and nine, people from the surrounding area would come to Paotan for a fair, and this tradition is still maintained today. The thousand-year-old Paotan is a typical example of the ancient town culture of the ancient rural areas in the south of the Yangtze River. Walking on the stone-paved road in the ancient town, admiring the shops along the street, the wooden doors and windows make a creaking sound, and the osmanthus trees will put the fallen flowers in the palm of your hand, breathing their scent in the most greedy way, and the sense of sight and smell will bring me back to the ancient town of Sangzi, Peng'an, Sichuan, where I lived in my childhood. What initially attracted me here was the word "pao". I searched the Internet and found that it means "white". Because this place is where the five waters converge, you can see multiple moons on the moonlit night. If you can live here, wait for the full moon night, you may understand the original intention of naming it "pao".
