🎫 No need to worry about online advice saying "you must book your ferry tickets to Gulangyu in advance." I bought mine directly on-site without any issues. 🚢 We took the ferry from the First Pier near our hotel for $80. The ride took about 20 minutes, and the scenery from the ferry was stunning. You can even go to the outdoor area at the back of the ferry to enjoy the view. 🏭 The architecture on Gulangyu is beautiful and very Western-style, but there are many slopes and stairways. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. 🍬 Most of Xiamen's local snacks can be found on Gulangyu, including yogurt, ice cream egg waffles, fish balls, and more.
