Slowly, Leisurely, Xiamen and Quanzhou

4 Nights and 5 Days in Xiamen A 4-night, 5-day trip to Xiamen was perfect for leisurely enjoying the sea, architecture, and urban atmosphere. On the first day, I started at Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. The long street is lined with snack and souvenir shops, blending old signs with vibrant lights to create a unique vibe. It was better to walk around at night, and people-watching was especially fun. On the second day, I visited Gulangyu Island. Although crowded with tourists, it was worth visiting at least once. The European-style buildings, coastal scenery, and music combined to give an exotic feel. On the third day, I began the day by taking a bus round trip from Zhongshan Road to Huangcuo Beach. The next destination, Nanputuo Temple, was impressive with its tall and ornate exterior, and the spacious interior made it a nice place to linger. Xiamen University itself was a tourist attraction. Walking near Furong Lake and seeing students riding bicycles brought back memories of my college days. The nearby Shimao Twin Towers are best viewed at night. While the view from the top is great, looking up from below is equally stunning. Zeng Cuo An Night Market was bustling but offered a variety of food and fun. If you're curious about a market full of local vibes, it's worth a visit. On the fourth day, I took a day trip to Quanzhou. I visited Kaiyuan Temple, Confucian Temple, Qingjing Mosque, and Guanyue Temple, and strolled along West Street Pedestrian Street. Quanzhou is a city where religion and culture blend, creating a different atmosphere with every step. I ended the day with dinner at Gangmo Duck Restaurant, where the rich and greasy flavors left a lasting impression. If you're looking for a trip that involves leisurely walking, sightseeing, and eating, Xiamen is a great choice. It's a place where you can enjoy both urban life and nature close by.
