He implemented policies well, which made the local economy prosperous and the people live in peace and happiness. He was honored as the "King of Fujian" for founding the foundation of Fujian. After Wang Shenzhi passed away, the Chen family of Jimei invited his statue into the Jimei Dashe Ancestral Hall for worship. In 1913, Tan Kah Kee returned to his hometown and started a large-scale construction project. He expanded the Chen family ancestral house to worship the "King of Fujian". During the Lantern Festival, villagers parade the statue of Wang Shenzhi in memory of him and to pray for a prosperous new year. Along the parade route, many people placed buckets, sweet potatoes, soybeans and other items at their doorsteps.
