Lady Xi Cultural Park

Madam Xi Cultural Park is located in Xizhou Forest Park, 300 meters north of the intersection of S337 and S213 in Xi County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. It is one of the sub-projects of the Xizhou Shanhai Scenic Area Project. Construction started in November 2014 with an investment of nearly 10 million yuan. Among them, Madam Xi Memorial Hall consists of three parts, namely the main hall and the east and west side halls, with a total area of ​​770 square meters, the main hall is 260 square meters, and the east and west side halls are 255 square meters each. In the peach blossom forest 200 meters behind the memorial hall stands a huge statue of Madam Xi. The statue is carved from white marble and weighs about 30 tons. Madam Xi, also known as Madam Tiaohua because of her rosy face, was one of the four great beauties in the Spring and Autumn Period. She was born in Wanqiu, State of Chen (now Huaiyang County, Henan Province) and her surname was Gui. Later, due to the disputes among Xi, Shen and Chu, King Wen of Chu destroyed Xi (established Xi County) and abducted Lady Xi as his concubine. After Lady Xi entered Chu, she "did not speak for three years" and gave birth to two sons, Du'ao and King Cheng. People are grateful for her virtue and respectfully call her the "Goddess of Peace". The statue of Madam Xi is located in a beautiful peach blossom forest. It is not only the core landscape of the Xizhou Shanhai Scenic Area, but also a symbol of the long history and culture of Xi County.
