Westin Hotel Qujiang Art Museum

Staying at the Westin Hotel in Xi'an, the hotel gave away two tickets, so I accidentally learned about this museum. The exhibition is divided into three parts, one is gold and jade artifacts, one is a replica of Dunhuang murals, and the other is more modern origami. Personally, I think it's quite worth a look. Since the art gallery is located in the Westin Hotel, it also greatly enhances my impression of the hotel. Allocating such a large area for exhibitions shows at least that there is thoughtfulness in cultural heritage, cultural promotion, and the connotation of the hotel brand. A good hotel is not only about the comfort of living but also about spiritual empowerment, and for that, I must give it a thumbs up. Speaking of the exhibition, the gold artifacts are all ancient, and the filigree inlay technique has been passed down to today. Although it is listed as an intangible cultural heritage skill, there are very few scholars. The crafts I have seen before are inferior to those in front of me. The gold wires used in the artifacts in front of me are as fine as hair, and the amount of effort it must take to weave them into baskets, vases, and crowns is immense. In a society that is impatient and profit-oriented, there are hardly any craftsmen who are so patient and disregard cost for profit. The jade artifacts on display were carved by a famous Thai master whose name I have forgotten, and they are very exquisite, with many works having bold and creative designs. What I like about the replica paintings of the Dunhuang murals are the beautiful color combinations. Looking at them, I see the aesthetics of nearly a thousand years ago, the era's taste in brown and orange, blue and pink, which is astonishing. If you're traveling to Xi'an, consider the Westin near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It's conveniently located, with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Datang Everbright City, Tang Paradise, and Chang'an Twelve Hours all within walking distance. A couple of days spent among the street's decorations and gourmet food won't leave you feeling bored.
