Those of you who are planning to visit Shangrao, save this now✅ Travel Essentials🧳 🎽Clothing: The weather in Shangrao is changeable, so be sure to check the weather forecast before you leave. When I went, the temperature difference between morning and evening was a bit large, so I brought a light jacket and short sleeves. If you like taking photos, you can bring some brightly colored clothes, which will look great in photos at the scenic spots📸. 👟Shoes: A comfortable pair of sneakers is a must for walking around. I also brought a pair of sandals to wear at the hotel or when playing in the water, which was super convenient. 💄Skincare and Cosmetics: I won't go into too much detail about daily skincare products, sunscreen, and cosmetics. Sunscreen is really important, as the sun in Shangrao can be quite strong🌞. Simple Itinerary🗺️ Day 1: Mount Sanqing After arriving at Shangrao Station in the morning, I took a taxi directly to the foot of Mount Sanqing, which took about an hour and a half🚕. Once there, I took the cable car up the mountain. The scenery of Mount Sanqing is truly stunning, with its strange peaks, rocks, and swirling clouds. It felt like stepping into a fairyland☁️. Walking slowly along the plank road, enjoying the scenery and taking photos, it takes about 4-5 hours to visit the main attractions. Day 2: Huangling, Wuyuan From Mount Sanqing, I took the scenic express bus to Huangling, which was very convenient. Huangling is most famous for its "shaiqiu" (sun-drying crops). Every household has various crops drying on their roofs, creating a colorful and beautiful scene. Stroll through the ancient village and experience the charm of Huizhou architecture🏮. You can also try the cable car and the glass walkway, which are quite thrilling. Day 3: Wangxian Valley The night view of Wangxian Valley is incredibly beautiful, so I recommend going in the afternoon. As soon as you enter the scenic area, you can see the houses on the cliffs, which are very distinctive. During the day, you can walk in the valley and see the waterfalls. After the lights are turned on at night, the entire valley transforms into a magical world, perfect for taking photos✨. Recommended Food🍱 🍜Shangrao Chicken Legs: You can find these at the high-speed rail station and scenic spots. You must try them! The meat is tender and the flavor is amazing, so delicious to bite into😋. 🍲Qianshan Hot Noodles: A Shangrao specialty, the rice noodles are smooth and chewy, and the soup is rich. Add some chili and vinegar for an even better taste. I ate this for two days straight, it was so good. 🦐Poyang Lake Small Fish and Shrimp: The ingredients are fresh, and the small fish and shrimp are fried to a crisp. Each bite is full of savory flavor, perfect with rice. 🥟Dengzhan Guo (Lamp-shaped Fruit): Shaped like a lamp, the outer skin is made of rice milk and filled with various ingredients, such as bean sprouts and radish. The texture is soft and glutinous, and the flavor is complex. Accommodation🏨 📍Mount Sanqing: I recommend staying in a homestay at the foot of Mount Sanqing. The environment is good and the prices are relatively affordable. You can also breathe in the fresh air in the morning, and the homestay owners are generally very welcoming and will give you some travel tips. 📍Huangling, Wuyuan: You can choose to stay in a homestay inside the scenic area, which is convenient for seeing the "shaiqiu" and the scenery in the morning and evening. However, the prices are relatively higher. If you're on a budget, you can also stay outside the scenic area and take the shuttle bus in and out. 📍Wangxian Valley: There are hotels and homestays inside the scenic area. I highly recommend staying inside so you can enjoy the night view without rushing to catch a ride. Things to Avoid🚫 🚗Transportation: The distance between the various attractions in Shangrao is a bit far. If you don't want to spend too much time traveling, I recommend chartering a car or taking the scenic express bus. Although the price is a bit higher, it's convenient and fast. Taking public transportation may involve a lot of transfers. 🎫Tickets: Book tickets online in advance, as there are sometimes discounts.
