Weekend Relaxation Notes/Rainy Days in Wuyi Mountain

Went to Wuyi Mountain for a relaxing weekend getaway ☔️ We planned the trip with friends two weeks in advance. As the date approached, we discovered it would be rainy, but everyone unanimously decided not to reschedule. We wanted to enjoy the sound of rain in the mountains 🌧️ Here's our main itinerary 👇 We arrived at Nanping Station around 10 AM on Saturday, took a Didi to our hotel to drop off our luggage, and then headed to Baiyun Zen Temple. It's one of Wuyi Mountain's less crowded attractions where you can also enjoy vegetarian noodles and meals. Unfortunately, we arrived too late to try the food. After climbing to the observation deck, we could only see a misty landscape, but the air was incredibly fresh and comfortable. After descending, we took a Didi to the Nine Bend Stream bamboo raft dock. Once aboard, the rain started pouring harder, which turned out to be a unique life experience. The entire journey lasted about 80 minutes, with the rain finally stopping during the last 10 minutes, allowing us to properly appreciate the beautiful mountains and waters of Nine Bend Stream. If you don't want to climb steep mountains, you can choose the Dahongpao Scenic Area and stroll along the Rock Valley Flower Path to Water Curtain Cave. The entire walk, with stops for photos, takes over an hour. Though tiring, the scenery along the way makes it absolutely worthwhile! For accommodation, we chose the Yiqu Xiangsi Aihu Resort Hotel 🏨. The staff were all women and provided excellent service. We booked a duplex room, which was a pleasant surprise - besides the tatami tea table, there was also a small sofa area where we could drink and chat at night, and enjoy tea while mountain-viewing during the day ⛰️. This weekend, we filled our lungs with fresh oxygen 🍃
