When you first hear about Chong'an Temple in Wuxi, you might immediately think it's a temple. However, Chong'an Temple is actually a political, commercial, and cultural center in Wuxi. Historically, Chong'an Temple was indeed the oldest temple in Wuxi, and it was as famous as the City God Temple in Shanghai, Xuanmiao Temple in Suzhou, and Confucius Temple in Nanjing. Chong'an Temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, gradually fading from history. Eventually, the temple became famous without a temple, and its buildings were repurposed, gradually developing into a bustling commercial area, becoming synonymous with the city center of Wuxi. Today, the city thrives because of the temple, the park prospers because of the street, and the commercial prosperity has earned Wuxi the reputation of 'Little Shanghai.'
