You can see snow-capped mountains around Lanzhou. Navigate directly to Tanyao Valley, about 1.5 hours from the city center by highway. You can take beautiful photos at the foot of the mountain, but be careful of the river in the middle and stay safe when taking photos! You can also see horses and yaks raised by herders at the foot of the mountain. After enjoying the snow up close, you can navigate to the Wushaoling Observation Deck for a panoramic view, passing by the ancient Ming Great Wall ruins on the way. To reach the Wushaoling Observation Deck, you need to walk a long boardwalk, but the view from the top is definitely worth it. If you don't want to climb the mountain, you can drive to the mountain opposite the Wushaoling Observation Deck, which is higher than the observation deck and offers a better view (p9, 10). The mountain road is steep and unpaved, but not too difficult to drive. Tips: It's recommended to wear bright clothes, as they look great in photos on sunny days. Scarves and hats can also be used to recreate scenes from "Love Letter." In the afternoon, the snow reflects strong light, making it hard to keep your eyes open for photos. If your eyes are sensitive, remember to wear sunglasses.
