The Shennv Scenic Area is located in the northwest of the Three Gorges Courtyard in Wushan County, Chongqing, on the north bank of the Yangtze River in the Three Gorges Wu Gorge.

The geographical location is between 109°33′～110°11′ east longitude and 30°45′～31°28′ north latitude, connecting with the "T"-shaped section of the Wu Gorge section of the Yangtze River. The scenic area is 22 kilometers west of Wushan County, 486 kilometers from Chongqing city, and 170 kilometers east of Yichang City, Hubei Province. The Shennv Scenic Area consists of three scenic areas: "Shennv Peak", "Shennv Creek" and "Shennv Sky Road", with a total area of ​​76 square kilometers, of which the core scenic area covers an area of ​​5.26 square kilometers. There are 12 peaks in the scenic area, including Denglong Peak, Shengquan Peak, Chaoyun Peak, Shennv Peak, Songlan Peak, Jixian Peak, Jingtan Peak, Qiyun Peak, Shangsheng Peak, Feifeng Peak, Cuiping Peak and Juhe Peak. The mountains are high and the valleys are deep, with strange peaks and rocks. In May 2014, Wushan Goddess Scenic Area was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. In June 2016, the Shennv Scenic Area was listed as one of the “Top Ten New Tourist Attractions in the New Three Gorges”. On January 4, 2022, the Wuxia Goddess Scenic Area was selected as the first batch of municipal civilized tourism demonstration units in Chongqing. In August 2022, Wuxia Shennv Scenic Area was awarded the title of "Typical Case of Smart Tourism Scenic Area in Chongqing in 2022"
