First Day in Zhangjiajie

I started my first day in Zhangjiajie at the East Gate of Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Since my accommodation was just a 10-minute walk away, I had a relaxed morning. I left my accommodation at 7 AM and purchased a 4-day multi-pass ticket, which included free access to cable cars and elevators for four days. On the first day, everything was free. Once facial recognition was registered, there was no need to show my passport—just a quick scan of my face and I was good to go. Traveling has become so convenient! I highly recommend visiting Heaven Pillar (Hallelujah Mountain) in Yuanjiajie—it’s amazing! Since I was on a 2-day itinerary, the owner of my accommodation provided detailed guidance, which helped me have a smooth first day. Taking my time to explore, it took about 6 hours. Tomorrow, I’ll be heading out early for the Huang Shi Zhai tour, which the accommodation owner marked as a must-see. Although the bus transportation is convenient, my legs and feet are sore from all the hiking. Now I understand why there are so many foot massage shops around. Wishing you a wonderful trip!
