The ancient pagoda that took the longest to build: Zhongjiang Pagoda.

Zhongjiang Pagoda is located at the intersection of the Yangtze River and Qingyi River in Jinghu District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It was first built in the 46th year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1618) and was completed in the 8th year of the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1669). It took 61 years to build, making it the ancient pagoda that took the longest to build in Chinese history. Zhongjiang Pagoda is a five-story octagonal geomantic pagoda, which is used to "suppress the water mouth". The first and second floors were built in the Ming Dynasty, and the third, fourth, and fifth floors were built in the Qing Dynasty, spanning 61 years. The pagoda is 35 meters high and is a loft-style brick and stone structure. Each side is 4.1 meters long, and each floor has a door on each side. There is a window on each side of the door, which is used to place lights at night to guide passing ships. Therefore, Zhongjiang Pagoda can be regarded as a landmark of Wuhu. On October 28, 2004, Zhongjiang Pagoda was announced by the People's Government of Anhui Province as a cultural relic protection unit in Anhui Province.
