Yellow Crane Tower

Yellow Crane Tower is located in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is situated on the top of Snake Mountain and overlooks the Yangtze River. It is a landmark building in Wuhan. The tower was first built in the second year of Huangwu of the Wu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period (223 AD). It has been repeatedly renovated throughout the ages. The existing building was designed based on the "Tongzhi Tower" of the Qing Dynasty and was rebuilt in 1985. Yellow Crane Tower is famous for the poem "Yellow Crane Tower" written by Cui Hao, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. It is known as one of the "Four Famous Towers of Ancient China" along with Yueyang Tower in Yueyang, Hunan, Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang, Jiangxi, and Guanque Tower in Yongji City, Shanxi. It is also known as the "First Tower in the World".
