St. John the Baptist Church

I visited this chapel on my way to the long walk. It’s located just near the Windsor Castle entrance and there is no admission fee but opening times are only from 10 am until 4 pm. St. George’s Chapel is a gothic revival style chapel in the village of Windsor. The current chapel replaced the previous one in the early 1820’s. The Last Supper painting by Francis Cleyn is hanging on the back wall of the church. It was presented to the church by George III in 1788 (before the new church was built to replace the old one). The church also features a Royal Pew which was a gift from Princess Augusta who used to go to that church. The church is a good place to visit while in Windsor but it’s very quickly visited.
