Hadlow Road - a great day out in Cheshire for the whole family!

The United Kingdom was at the heart of the Industrial Revolution, driving forward many new industries and technologies throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. One of the areas that the United Kingdom proved to be a trailblazer was in relation to its rail network. However, by the mid 20th Century, travel by car had become the primary mode of transport in the UK and many train networks and lines went out of service and in many cases, became disused. However, in recent years, there has been a renaissance in the use of these rail lines and train stations - though not necessarily for transport reasons! For example, in the Wirral, Merseyside, old rail lines have now become part of the Wirral Way, a trail that can be used by cyclists, walkers and runners to enjoy the scenery and nature all around. In Neston, Cheshire, an old train station called Hadlow Road along the Wirral Way has been restored to give a glimpse of what life would have been like here in the early 20th Century. It’s charming and something completely different! They’ve even added a rail line in which runs along the platform. It’s perfect for photo opportunities and a brilliant place to bring the kids and family for a day out! There’s plenty to see in and around Merseyside and Cheshire on a day out - perfect for the school holidays! #cheshire #england #hadlowrd #uk #britain #holiday #travel #daysout
