🌟 The Tianshan Tumur Grand Canyon is located in the Bozidun Kerkiz Township of Wensu County in the Aksu region of Xinjiang, on the southern foothills of the central Tianshan Mountains. The canyon is about 80 kilometers northeast of Wensu County and about 26 kilometers from National Highway 314, covering a total area of 200 square kilometers. This place was once an essential passageway on the ancient postal road between the southern and northern Tianshan Mountains, known as the Muzart Trail. Locals call it 'Kudu Luk Grand Canyon,' which means 'dangerous and mysterious' in Uyghur. 👍 The canyon stretches about 25 kilometers from east to west and about 20 kilometers from north to south. It consists of 3 main valleys in a '川' shape, 12 tributaries, and hundreds of smaller gullies. It is the largest and most aesthetically valuable red-bed canyon between the southern and northern Tianshan Mountains, known as the 'King of Canyons.' ❤ This place was once a necessary path on the ancient postal road between the southern and northern Tianshan Mountains, the Muzart Trail. Legend has it that Xuanzang passed through here on his journey to the Western Regions for Buddhist scriptures. It's hard to imagine the lonely figure of the monk Xuanzang, who, despite his solitude, carried endless wisdom and courage, traversing this barren canyon on a frail old horse, overcoming numerous difficulties to fulfill his mission. ✅ The canyon's sightseeing and adventure area spans about 50km, featuring five types of landforms: Danxia, Yardang, Sub-Yardang, rock salt karst, and a unique salt mound bottom split structure, earning it the nickname 'a living geological history textbook.' There are countless peculiarly shaped rock peaks here, and as you walk through the quiet canyons, you can let your imagination run wild. Moreover, with very few tourists, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery all to yourself!
