Island Diary | Weizhou Island Travel Guide (may contain dissuasive content)

Sharing some tips while also helping everyone avoid potential disappointments. It's not that Weizhou Island is not nice, it's just not as great as described online 😅 Transportation✈️🚢 Flights from Hangzhou to Beihai are scarce and at inconvenient times, so I flew to Nanning, played for a day, then took the high-speed train to Beihai to catch a ferry to the island. Not flying directly to Beihai makes the journey more complicated... The island is quite small, mainly e-scooters➕tourist buses. It's cost-effective to charter a tourist bus when in a group. Accommodation🏠 Booked a homestay near the Colorful Beach for the sunrise, everything else was ok, but the breakfast was too perfunctory... It's been a long time since I've had such a sloppy breakfast (if you don't mind, you can PM me to ask). Food🍽️ 🔶Nanning 🔸Gui Xiaochu: Tastes good👍 🔷Weizhou Island (for the convenience of the elders, we dined near the scenic spots) 🔹Jiefu·Vietnamese Beef Pho: Can't believe this was my favorite meal! Nice environment, delicious💯 🔹Jingye Restaurant: Scenic spot, ‼️you can't see the sunset here, only the afterglow🫠Average dishes, but the environment wins. 🔹starry Starry Coast: Seaside scenic spot, average taste, located at Shiluokou Beach, where you can eat while watching the sunset, good for taking photos. 🔹Chicken Auntie·Coconut Chicken: Average coconut chicken, compared to the ones I've had before, I personally find it overpriced and in small portions. 🔹Daydream Fusion Restaurant: Passionfruit ribs are delicious (don't go to the coconut seller next to it towards the church direction, I bought a bad one, and when I found the seller within three minutes, he cursed and said I didn't buy it from him / 'See You Tomorrow' mango ice on the same street is okay🉑️) 🔹Homestay Lunch: The homestay bought seafood and processed it, which was the best seafood meal on the island🤤Banana chicken is delicious🐔 🔹Fruits: Jackfruit and bananas are delicious, there are also longan and starfruit trees near the homestay that you can pick and eat. Itinerary📝 day1⃣️ Nanning 🟡Three Streets and Two Alleys Similar to Wide and Narrow Alleys 🔵Night Cruise on Yong River Suitable for accompanying elders, young people can skip it day2⃣️ Weizhou Island 🟡Colorful Beach The beach is small, the sunrise is nice, the rock walls are good for taking photos, ⚠️be careful 🔵Nanwan Street Coastal, with bars, shops, and trendy restaurants, some shops are quite interesting, worth a stroll after dinner, but the road is narrow and prone to traffic jams, hard to get a tourist bus if it's too late😤 day3⃣️Weizhou Island 🟡Crocodile Mountain A small hike, not tiring, the seaside is picturesque, clean, and clear. 🔵Dishui Danping Didn't go because of the rain 🟡Shiluokou Beach The sand is white, good for watching the sunset! Many water activities available. day4⃣️Weizhou Island 🟡Catholic Church The church and its surroundings are blocked off at every intersection to collect tourist bus fees, which is really unsightly❗️There's a small path you can navigate on your own, if you can't find it, you can pay a local 10 yuan to guide you. Ordinary church➕back garden. Next to it is a street with restaurants, shops, and coffee shops. 🔵Shell Beach Less crowded, feels okay! Really found some beautiful shells🐚 day5⃣️ After four days on the island, because of 🪖drills... tired, lay like a corpse for a day, got the return ticket in the afternoon and went back to Beihai. But I really have to say, there's too much trash on the island🫣
