Weishan, Dali, an ancient city seriously underestimated in Yunnan.

Transportation: Dali to Weishan by high-speed rail, 22 yuan, 22 minutes; Haro Shunfeng car, exclusive 85-90 yuan, 1.5 hours. Accommodation: Weishan Ancient City or surrounding areas. There are not many people in the ancient city, and there is no need to worry about the crowds and noise of Dali Ancient City. Two recommended hotels: Original Art Hostel (super modern but lacks a little Weishan ancient city flavor) Weishan Yunxi Club (private museum + hostel, each suite has two floors and is super large). Long-term rentals can be found in the ancient city. If you see a folk custom you like, go in and talk to the owner about the long-term rental price. Food: People say that you play in Dali and eat in Weishan, and it's true. The average level of Weishan's restaurants is personally felt to be TOP in Yunnan. Here are some of the many delicious foods I've eaten. Lao Er Restaurant: All the dishes are not bad, I prefer lotus leaf chicken (enough and tender) and fried stinky tofu (soft and glutinous, not available elsewhere). Xuan Ji Hotpot: I prefer here to the Mala Renjia next door. There are more ingredients and the soup base is more delicious (the clear soup is delicious). Ye Zi Rice Noodle Roll: Rice noodle roll + noodles + papaya vinegar is a perfect match. Even I, who don't like sweet and sour, can't stop. You Shun Hao Hui Restaurant: All kinds of beef are delicious. During the meal, the grandparents (owners) will ask if you like it and feed you other freshly made dishes. Ancient City Leisure: Vanguard Bookstore: I go there almost every evening, read a book for a while, then have a rose roasted milk at the camping tea stall outside. The owner is a family of three and is very enthusiastic. Nan Street: Nan Street is almost all coffee and wine bars and hand-made shops opened by people from outside Weishan. Most of them are not for profit but for leisure, so you hardly see the kind of commercialism you see in other ancient cities. Sitting on the second floor of Mengyuan Wine Bar in the evening to watch the sunset or on the second floor of Miye Coffee Wine Bar to watch the ancient town streets is a different kind of enjoyment. Nanzhao Museum: A good place to learn about Weishan and Yunnan. Later, when I went to the Yunnan Provincial Museum, I felt that it was just a collection of the Nanzhao Museum in Weishan and the Yuxi Museum. Mengyang Park: The sun is very gentle in the evening, the swaying shadows on the red walls and the blooming crape myrtle are super healing. Hiking and outdoor activities: Weibao Mountain: Century-old trees everywhere, Taoist temples that have traveled through time, mushrooms all over the mountain after rain, and the magical way of trimming the lawn with caged rabbits at the entrance of Weibao Mountain Scenic Area are all surprises. Donglianhua Village: A village carried on horseback, with delicious noodles. Likecun Village: It's simply a paradise within a paradise, and it's irresistible for those who love ancient villages and old houses. Fuqing Reservoir: A good place for camping, with aerial grasslands + reservoirs, different weather brings different surprises. Huanglimu Reservoir: On a sunny day, standing by the reservoir, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the fields + ancient city. You can walk along the reservoir to the village, a good place for hiking. Da Xiao Temple: A place I've been to four or five times, the vegetarian food at Xiao Temple and the cats on the eaves of Da Temple are all surprises. Xi River: Close to the high-speed rail station, you can see the most beautiful clouds in Weishan, you can fish, and there is a market by the river.
