Recently, I was invited to visit the Dingyuan Ship Scenic Area in Weihai City, Shandong Province. The main landscape here is the flagship Dingyuan of the Beiyang Navy in the late Qing Dynasty. The historical Dingyuan ship was produced in the 19th century. It is powerful and well-protected. It was once known as the "Asia's first ship", but it was destroyed during the Sino-Japanese War. In order to commemorate this history, the Chinese side began to build the Dingyuan ship in 2004.
