⛰[Scenic Spot Guide] 📍Detailed address: Dongshan Ridge is located 2 km east of Wanning City. Because its three peaks stand side by side, resembling a pen holder, it was historically called Pen Holder Mountain. It is one of the earliest developed tourist attractions in Hainan, as famous as the Five Lords Temple and Tianya Haijiao, and is known as "Hainan's No. 1 Mountain". Dongshan Ridge, with an altitude of only 184 meters, is covered with strange rocks. Dongshan Ridge is associated with the saying "make a comeback". The famous anti-Jin general Li Gang was once expelled from the capital by the imperial court and exiled to Hainan Island. He traveled all over Hainan to lobby and finally settled in Dongshan Ridge. Later, the imperial court summoned him back to be the prime minister, hence the meaning of "making a comeback". The second association is Dongshan mutton, one of Hainan's four most famous dishes (Dongshan mutton, Wenchang chicken, Jiaji duck, and Hele crab). Its meat is of excellent quality, with evenly distributed fat, tender skin, and thick flesh. It is not greasy, has a fragrant smell, and a rich, milky white soup, making it very popular among diners. The entrance fee to the scenic spot is CNY 40. There is a sightseeing bus ticket office to the right of the ticket checkpoint, CNY 30 per person. The sightseeing bus takes you around the mountain, and the parking lot halfway up the mountain is the terminal. To reach the top of the mountain, you need to climb the steps. There are two viewing platforms at the top of the mountain, one facing the sea! 🚗Transportation guide: Transportation: We drove there ourselves, but there were a lot of cars on Lunar New Year's Day, so it is recommended to start early, otherwise, parking will be a hassle. You can also choose to take a taxi or public transportation, but it may not be very convenient. Tickets: On-site ticket purchase is CNY 43. You can also buy tickets online half an hour in advance for CNY 40. Seniors over 60 years old get half price, and those over 70 are free. Dongshan Ridge is located in the suburbs of Wanning City, with an altitude of 184 meters. Although it is not very high, the scenery is very unique. Got off the train and found a tea restaurant to eat. Since we didn't drive, we found one nearby, and it tasted pretty good. Dongshan Ridge is very close to the city center, about 6 km, and it took 20 minutes by taxi. The driver was very enthusiastic and explained the circular route of Dongshan Ridge, which was really good. I've been to Dongshan Ridge several times, and this time was the most comfortable experience, even a bit reluctant to leave. 📌Small tips: They say Wanning's "aftertaste" is too strong...
