Château de Versailles - A Must-See for Your First Trip to Paris

The Château de Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage site located just outside Paris, is one of the most famous and opulent palaces in the world. Originally a hunting lodge for King Louis XIII, it was transformed into a grand palace by his son, Louis XIV, who moved the royal court there in 1682. How to Get There: Take the RER C line, a bus, or drive (my friend in Paris gave me a ride here). Timing: I visited on a weekday to avoid the crowds, but it’s even better to go early in the morning. Duration: I recommend setting aside a full day to fully explore the castle at a leisurely pace. Highlighted Places: Hall of Mirrors, Gardens of Versailles, Palace Rooms, and the Trianon Palaces.
